Health information and Counselling

Counselling (Face to Face and Telehealth)

Our counsellors offer short term counselling in person and via telehealth.

In person, sessions are provided at the centre and are limited. As with all of our work we take a strengths-based and solutions-focused approach to counselling. We offer a number of referral options for longer term support or practical solutions.  Translating and interpreting services are available.

Women's Health Information Line - Free Call

1800 675 028 is staffed by trained health workers. We can provide you with information on general health issues and individual support. Translating and interpreting services are available.

This is an information only line - our team does not give medical advice or opinions.

We have active partnerships and referral networks with other services and agencies. We can help you find out what is available in your area that may suit your needs.

Sometimes women need support to find their way through service options or to speak up on their own behalf. Our health workers are happy to support women in these instances. We make sure your  wishes are the basis of any representation we make.

Women's Health Fund

The Women's Health Fund is administered state-wide by Women's Health Tasmania with the assistance of partner agencies.

The aim of the Women's Health Fund is to assist women aged 25 years and over, who otherwise could not afford to access sexual and reproductive health services. The fund assists disadvantaged women across Tasmania.

Young women aged 12 - 24 can access the Youth Health Fund via The Link

We have a comprehensive library on subjects related to women's health, so women can be informed and make decisions about their health and wellbeing.

Women can borrow up to 2 books for 3 weeks. There is no membership fee to use the library. All we need are the contact details of the borrower when a book is loaned.
