Counselling (Face to Face and Telehealth)
At Women's Health Tasmania, we understand the significant impact our mental health can have on our physical and mental well-being. Our Social Worker and Psychologist offer free, short-term counselling sessions for Tasmanian people identifying as women or identified female at birth.
As with all our work, we take a strengths-based and solutions-focused approach to counselling. Our counsellors offer up to three free appointments either face-to-face, over the phone, or over video call. If three appointments aren't enough, we can also offer a number of referral options for longer-term counselling or practical support.
You do not need a mental health care plan or a referral from a doctor to see our counsellors.
Counsellors will use your preferred name and pronouns. Please let them know if these change.
You can book an appointment for counselling by calling us on 6231 3212 anytime between 9am-4pm Monday-Thursday.
Translating and interpreting services are available. If you would like an interpreter, we can book a TIS phone interpreter for free.
