Thank you for your interest in the Social Worker position with Women’s Health Tasmania (WHT). The position has become available because the current Social Worker has moved to an exciting new role in our organisation.

WHT’s Social Worker is part of our health promotion team. She provides emergency and short-term counselling and some limited case liaison. She also provides health promotion information and runs health promotion workshops and activities. The Social Worker also works on networks, projects, with volunteers, and helps in the development of our policy work. If your experience meets University requirements you will be asked to supervise a student each year.

Women’s Health Tasmania is run by women for women and provides services within a feminist framework of practice.  Our vision is for women in Tasmania to experience good health and wellbeing. To achieve this we work to see women be informed and active decision makers in our own health and wellbeing.

WHT has an exemption under the Anti-Discrimination Act to only employ people who identify as women.

If you are interested in applying write an application responding to the selection criteria. You will find them on the Position Description. Make sure you give examples to demonstrate the experience and skills you are telling us about.

Submit your application with your Curriculum Vitae and the names and contact details of two referees to info@womenshealthtas.org.au by COB Friday 17th September.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give Jo Flanagan a call on 6231 3212.
