Walking Group

Our friendly women’s walking group meet each week and walk for general health and wellbeing. Walking time is usually one hour or less with additional time allowed for morning tea at a café unless otherwise stated.

Walking pace is moderate; the emphasis is on social as well as physical benefits.

Springs to Lenah Valley

Park in Springs car park. Access is via a right turn at Mt Wellington/kunanyi sign 616, just before Fern Tree Tavern. Car park is then approx 3.5km along the road.

Hobart Waterworks

Meet at the number 7 car park. Bring morning tea to share.

October 30 Bellerive Walk Meet at Bellerive boardwalk and walk to Rosny Point and back. Coffee on boardwalk on return.

Fern Tree Pipeline Track Meet at Fern Tree Tavern and walk along pipeline and return. Morning tea at Fern Tree Tavern
November 13 Suncoast Headlands Track Blackmans Bay Early start, leaving centre at 10am. Accessed from the southern end of Blackmans Bay.

Cornelian Bay Walk Cornelian Bay Beach and walking track. Starts at the Boat House Restaurant

November 27

Shag Bay Meet at Geilston Bay Yacht Club. We will follow the mostly flat track, though the descent to Shag Bay is steep
December 4 Risdon Brook Dam Mostly flat walk around the dam
December 11 Alum Cliffs Kingston Early start, leaving from centre at 10am. Park parallel to Browns River accessed via Osbourne Esplande.

Breast Cancer Support Group: 3rd Tuesday of the month 11:45 am - 1:15 pm. For any woman diagnosed with breast cancer who would like information and support.

Bowen Therapy (NST) and Emmett Technique: Every Wednesday at the Centre. $65 per session. To make an appointment, contact Christine Toyama on 0417 363 108.

NDIS: Fortnightly starting November 14, 2019 from 2 - 4pm. Come in if you have any questions regarding NDIS.

Writers’ Support Group: 1st Wednesday of the month, 2 - 4 pm. New members welcome.

Warped Wenches: 3rd Saturday of the month, 10 am to 4 pm. A group of women who love to sew, and share an interest in all sorts of crafts. Contact Denise 0417 808 871.

We regularly host forums and workshops on various topics of interest to women at various venues. The issues covered range from individual physical health to broader issues which impact on the wellbeing of women. Some of the many topics covered in recent years include mental health, nutrition and exercise, stroke, euthanasia, violence against women, menopause, financial planning, digital technology and brain training.
