Walking Group

Under the latest Government regulations, the group can run, with a maximum of 20 walkers.

The walks take place in the Hobart metropolitan area and are led by a Health Worker. The walk begins at 10.30am.

November 16  Mount Nelson 

Start at Mount Nelson Lookout car park and take trail down the hill towards Sandy Bay. 

There is a café where you can purchase drinks but we recommend bringing your own thermos and snacks. 

November 23  Kingston Beach to Boronia Beach 

Meet at Kingston Beach (on the beach side) at the corner of Osborne Esplanade and Ewing Avenue.  

We will be walking towards the Rowing Club, up the hill and along the coastline.  

November 30  Risdon Dam 

Meet at the Car park near the public toilets. 

Bring your own drink/thermos and something to share for morning tea.

Waverley Wildflower Walk

Mornington

Parking: Corner of Quarry Rd and Carawa St

Meet at the Quarry Road entrance, corner Quarry Rd and Carawa St, Mornington.

We will go to a café in Lindisfarne.

Botanical Gardens 

CHRISTMAS

Last walk for the year

Meet at the main entrance near the visitor centre.

We will walk around the gardens and then find a shady place to share something to eat and drink.

You are encouraged to bring something to share but as always there is always more than enough food so please feel free to just bring your smile.

Alum Cliffs Kingston

Park parallel to Browns River accessed via Osbourne Esplanade.

Note: this track is a steep in parts but for those with mobility challenges you are welcome to come and relax on the beach until we return.

January 11 Pipeline track

Meet at Fern Tree Tavern for a lovely cool walk under the trees on the Pipeline. Suitable for prams.

There is a café at Fern Tree Tavern but feel free to bring your own drink/snacks.

Access via Taroona Crescent and meeting in car park at Taroona Park.

Therapists and Monthly Groups

Breast Cancer Support Group: Third Tuesday of each month 11.45am - 1.15pm at 25 Lefroy Street.  Contact Rosemary on 0439 423 934 for more details.         

Writers’ Support Group: 1st Wednesday of the month from 2 - 4pm. 

 

Face to Face Counselling 

Our Social Worker and Psychologist offer free, short-term counselling via phone or video conferencing for Tasmanian women.  Our particular areas of focus are: 

  • Emotional health and wellbeing counselling
  • Preparation for birth, pregnancy and parenting
  • Pregnancy options counselling
  • Hypnotherapy

As with all our work we take a strengths-based and solutions-focused approach to counselling.  We can also offer a number of referral options for longer-term counselling or practical support.  Translating and interpreting services are available.
